PETALING JAYA: TVSelangorku received the New Media Award for the category of internet tv at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Media Appreciation Ceremony today.
TVSelangorku won through the Apa Khabar Selangor (AKS or in English ‘What is up Selangor’), operated by the late DJ Mansor, which discusses various issues.
The certificate of appreciation and a cash prize of RM1,000 was presented by the Mayor of Petaling Jaya, Datin Paduka Alinah Ahmad.
TVSelangorku is a WebTV segment published by SelangorKini as the official media of the Selangor government through its subsidiary company Communication Corporation Sdn Bhd (CCSB).
The Selangor Kini Acting Chief Photographer, Muhammad Asri Sapdie, won the Photography Appreciation Award.
He was happy when chosen for the award, beating other more experienced candidates.
“I am honoured because this is the first time I have entered a photo contest as a media practitioner. Thanks MBPJ,” he said, taking home a cash prize of RM1,000 and a certificate of appreciation.
The other categories include the Print Media Journalism Award (Best Newspaper Writing), the Print Media Appreciation Award (Various Languages) and the Television Media Appreciation Award.
The award was to appreciate media practitioners who cover relevant MBPJ new, in addition to bringing closer ties among the media and the local authority.
