PKNS donates school aid to flood victims in Temerloh

SHAH ALAM, 10 Jan: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) donated school supplies to five schools here affected by the floods.

The KASIH PKNS convoy to Pahang: Transboundary Humanitarian Mission was also joined by the General Manager of PKNS, Azlan Md Alifiah, to distribute the school aid to 1,659 school students at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanjung Lalang, Sekolah Kebangsaan Guai, Sekolah Kebangsaan Mentakab Jaya and Sekolah Rendah Agama At- Taqwa.

The PKNS Public Relations Manager, Ishak Hashim, said that the convoy is joined by 160 volunteers consisting of PKNS employees to deliver aid to five schools for preparation of the 2015 school session, which will begin next week.

“PKNS also cleaned Sekolah Rendah Agama At Taqwa which was dirty and damaged to ease the burden of teachers, parents and primarily, PKNS wants to ensure that the students of this school are comfortable when they enter school on the first day.

“Among the contributions which PKNS provided are school uniforms, school bags, stationary, mineral water and also RM10,000 was given to each school,” he said.

Previously, PKNS, together with a group of their subsidiary companies and associations, presented a donation of RM500,000 to the Selangor government recently.

Ishak added that PKNS, associations and all of its subsidiary companies have launched the PKNS KASIH fund to raise funds to ease the burden of flood victims who have been adversely affected by the disaster.

“This is in line with the call by the state government for subsidiary companies of the Selangor government to donate contributions to the flood victims.

“PKNS, representing all members of the management, employees and subsidiary companies, express sympathy over this unexpected disaster,” he added.
