“Hopefully, with knowledge, it can produce more successful Muslims in the world and the hereafter,” said the fourth child of six siblings.

Azzah was present to receive the award presented by the Director of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), Datuk Haris Kasim, at an event held at the Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque today.

Meanwhile, the top student for the male category, Muhammad Aliff Mahfuz Zulkarami, 12, from the Sri As-Syakirin School, is interested in becoming a scientist.

“Since he was young, we practiced various mental stimulation for him such as playing religious CDs.

“This success is also the result of guidance and hard work of teachers who relentlessly hold extra classes after the school session is over,” said his mother, Cik Azizah Ibrahim, 39, who is also a math teacher.
