CM: Central government should develop a more efficient public transport system

SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: The public transport system in Selangor needs to be improved to accommodate traffic congestion in the state.

The Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the ratio of public transport to private should be increased to 60:40, thus increasing the use of public transport.

“We want the Federal Government to focus on a public transport system that is more efficient.

“Therefore, I recommended for the Federal Government to focus on a bigger budget for the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) for the public transport system,” he said.

He said this during a press conference after a meeting with the Public Works Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, at the Selangor Chief Minister’s office today.

When touching on the development projects being undertaken by the Federal Government in the state, Mohamed Azmin explained that the state government is ready to receive any form of development that provides benefits to the wellbeing of Selangorians.
