SUBANG JAYA, 25 Mar: The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) will be hosting the MPSJ Open Basketball and Volleyball Championship 2015 on April 11 and 112 after receiving an overwhelming response at two previous championships.
The MPSJ Corporate Communications Officer, Azli Miswan, said that the organisation of the programme indirectly helps teenagers, youths and veterans by attracting them to take part in beneficial sports and recreational activities.
“This championship is a space and opportunity to unearth and identify new talents in these two sports to be categorised at higher levels.
“So far, 24 basketball teams and 22 volleyball teams have confirmed their participation,” he said in a press statement.
The championship will take place at the MPSJ Sports Complex in USJ 5 starting at 8.00 o’clock in the morning until 9.00 pm.
The registration fee for basketball teams for the open category is RM150 and RM50 for teams under 18 years of age.
Meanwhile the fee for volleyball are RM200 (Men’s Open) and RM150 (Women’s Open).
The overall prizes worth up to RM20,500 await participants.
