State government waiting for full report on the house sinking incident

KLANG, 4 Apr: A full report on the incident about houses sinking in Section 7, Shah Alam, will be studied before any action is decided upon, said Chief Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.

He added that among the options to be considered is to rebuild all the affected homes.

“Negotiations to redevelop have already been held in the past few years however, some owners did not agree.

“Until a decision is reached this time, residents are asked to continue staying at the De Palma Hotel for their safety,” he said.

He said this during a press conference shortly after opening the Klang GM Wholesale Launching Ceremony this morning.

A total of 12 families from Jalan Plumbum 7/101A were evacuated from their homes after they houses suffered severe cracks because the soil under their homes is settling, on Aprli 2.

All of them are house temporarily at the Shah Alam De Palma Hotel and is being entirely borne by PKNS.

Consequently, the Petaling District Officer, Datuk Mohd Misri Idris, declared the homes as a level one disaster area.

An official statement will be released tomorrow, followed by a closed briefing session between the National Security Council (NSC) and the victims.
