The PKR de facto leader thinks that the court made a mistake in the decision and he will make the statement by the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the case and the series of Umno roadshows that highlights the leader of the prosecution, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, as the reason for the application.

Citing Malaysia Kini, Anwar believes that there is no reason for the conviction and sentence because there was conflicting evidence regarding a carpet at the location the offence had allegedly taken place.

The application was filed by Anwar’s lawyers N Surendran and Michelle Yesudas, and also attended by his daughter, Nurul Izzah, who is also the PKR Vice President.
