Wan Aziaah: “Fuel prices in May stay the same, don’t know about June”

PERMATANG PAUH, 1 May: Continuous objection by the people has left the Federal Government with no choice to maintain the price of fuel for May, the same as before.

The decision is also believed to be due to two by-elections, Permatang Pauh and Rompin, in the near future.

The PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, said that it shows that the Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership is desperate to gain public support despite contrary rumours previously.

“It was initially rumoured that it will increase, it was widespread on social media, but a statement was issued saying that the price will not be increased.

“It shows the pressure due to the Permatang Pauh and Rompin by-elections,” she told Selangor Kini today.

The Permatang Pauh PKR candidate said that the people now are able to change situations and the by-elections that are coming up would be the best opportunity for this.

She said that what is happening now is believed to be temporary and BN will change it back when the situation has eased.

“But this is only for May, for June, we do not know yet,” she said.
