PERMATANG PAUH, 5 May: A survey carried out by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) show that the percentage of people who will come out to vote in the Permatang Pauh by-election is only 68 percent.
The PKR Strategic Director, Sim Tze Tzin, said that he obtained the statistics after the survey, which involved 406 respondents who are also Permatang Pauh voters through telephone calls.
He said that it is a bad sign if the results become reality, as happened in the Teluk Intan by-election previously.
“We asked them if they will go home to vote. Less than 70 percent, only 68 percent, said that they will go home.
“This is worrying because the Teluk Intan by-election candidate, Dyana Sofya, received a bad experience with a turnout of less than 70 percent,” he said during a press conference at the PKR Media Centre, Yayasan Aman, today.
However, he hopes that the voters in Permatang Pauh will turn up to vote to ensure the message of objection and country’s direction is on the right track.
“We will not expect anything. We leave it to the voters to decide the direction of the country. If you need change, we call upon voters to return home to vote,” he said.
