Impossible PR sabotaged, what facts did BN base it on?

PERMATANG PAUH, 5 May: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) criticised the statement by Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders that a sabotage is being orchestrated by the opposition in the Permatang Pauh by-election on May 7.

The Kuala Langat Member of Parliament, Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid, said that allegations that traffic will be prevented on the polling day is because the ruling party, especially Umno which currently does not have a place in the people’s hearts.

“How could we sabotage it when PR wants to provide the best space for voters to vote.

“It will not happen in the present situation. What facts and date did they use? Information from where?” he told Selangor Kini today.

He likened the allegations to the Malay proverb that says ‘if the grass is considered a thicket then the thicket will become the master of the one who is cluttering’.

“This means, who owns the grass? They own it and the one talking is one and the same, the one who is going to do it is also them.

“Normally people who are nasty and indecent will do such things and assume that others are the same,” he said.

Abdullah Sani said that the community’s support is increasingly high for PR and its candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, based on surveys carried out at several areas that have been called Umno’s stronghold.

“Although at the last second, various efforts to gain votes will be carried out by the opponent, but I am certain that it is a bleak strategy and not the winning ticket.

“This is because policies made by BN today has led to distrust among the people,” he said.

Media reports yesterday said that BN is ready to face any sabotage that they believe the opposition will carry out on the polling day.
