SHAH ALAM, 26 May: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak should dissolve Parliament and hold a general election to restore the confidence of various parties, including Umno.
Khalid Samad (PAS-Shah Alam) said that it is important for Najib to get a new mandate, thereby silencing critics, especially the former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“Najib has not only lost the confidence of the people and the opposition, but is also facing internal party crisis.
“The only way is to dissolve the Parliament. This is the only way to silence Mahathir,” he said, taken from Malaysian Kini when debating the 11th Malaysia Plan in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Najib is faced with criticism, especially regarding his leadership and the 1MDB issue which has attracted the public’s attention, including pressure from Umno itself.
