Assemblymen wants futsal, netball facilities to be enhanced

SHAH ALAM, 13 Aug: The state government should focus on improving futsal and netball facilities to ensure that the growing needs can be met.

Several Assemblymen met said that this is because the two sports have the best response in their respective areas.

“Currently in Sri Serdang, there is a futsal court for each zone, bring it to a total of nine.

“Given the good response, we are ready to increase it is there is a demand at suitable locations,” said the Sri Serdang Assemblyman, Noor Hanim Ismail, to Selangor Kini today.

The Paya Jaras Assemblyman, Mohd Khairuddin Othman, said that apart from futsal courts that need to be repaired, he also urged for the construction of a mini stadium in Paya Jaras to be expedited.

“A lot of futsal courts are damaged; they mainly have holes in the fences and cracked cement.

“In addition, because provisions have been approved, I request for the construction of the mini stadium to be expedited so that it can be benefited by the youth here,” said Mohd Khairuddin.

The Batu Tiga Assemblyman, Rodziah Ismail, urged to state government to focus on providing netball courts.

“In addition to futsal, there should be netball courts for women as this facilities are somewhat lacking.

“At Batu Tiga, we also need open spaces such as parks for the convenience of families and the local community to relax while exchanging ideas,” said Rodziah.
