Selangor waits for Shah Alam Hospital opening ceremony invitation

KLANG, 15 Aug: The Selangor government is ready to accept the invitation by the Ministry of Health for the opening ceremony of the Shah Alam Hospital (HSA).

The Exco for Health, Welfare, Women and Family Affairs, Dr Daroyah Alwi, said that political differences should not be a barrier to celebrate cooperation in the interest of the people.

“Prior to this, we accepted the excuse that the key presentation ceremony was nothing, only a key presentation so there was no need to invite the state government.

“So, we waited for the opening ceremony, whether invited or not.

“But, we hope that at least the Chief Minister will be invited because it is not far; it is only located in Shah Alam,” she told Selangor Kini.

She was met after the Sinar Ehsan Society (PSE) Hari Raya Feast at Sungai Kapar Indah on 13 August.

Prior to this, the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, expressed regrets when the Selangor government was not invited for the HSA key presentation ceremony by the Public World Department (JKR) to to the Ministry of Health.

However, the Minister of Public Works, Datuk Seri Fadilah Mansor, said that the event was just a key handing-over ceremony and an official invitation was submitted to the Ministry of Health at a date to be announce.

At a cost of RM549 million, the HSA at Section 7 will be open in October after being overdue for seven years.
