MPK issues 21 compounds & 14 notices during hygiene operation

SHAH ALAM, 24 Aug: 21 compounds and 14 notices involving various business offences was issued by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) during a special operation recently.

The operation led by the MPK Health Department Director, Zulkifli Abbas, was carried out based on complaints from the public on issues related to the cleanliness of restaurant operators in carrying out their businesses.

The MPK Corporate Communications Chief, norfiza Mahfiz, said that apart from the hygiene compounds, MPK also issued compounds for placing up obstacles at public pathways, throwing food particles into drains and placing trash outside bins.

Also fined is the offence of making trash areas stores by placing business equipment and there were some traders who did not provide typhoid immunisation for their employees.

“MPK takes hygiene issues seriously because it involves public interest and we are always committed in carrying out enforcement operations.

“Such operations will be continued from time to time to ensure that no one goes against the rules set,” he said in a statement.

Norfiza said that MPK also welcomes any complaints, suggestions and opinions from the public to address issues related to hygiene, especially among premises owners.
