MDKL Ops Gagak returns

SHAH ALAM, 21 Aug: The Kuala Langat District Council’s Ops Gagak returns with the same mission to reduce wildlife population that has become a threat to residents and hygiene problems on August 23.

The MDKL Yang Dipertua, Mohd Azhad Mohamed Ali, said that the 5th edition is part of MDKL’s initiative to strengthen the waste and solid waste management service delivery system.

“We also intend to increase the level of cleanliness and create a good environment, thus providing comfort to the local people.

“This is in line with the state government’s desire toward the success of the ‘Zero Waste’ campaign that was launched by the Chief Minister last year,” he said in a statement to Selangor Kini.

Mohd Azhar said that MDKL has identified a number of hotspots involving Tanjung Sepat, Banting, Telok Panglima Garang and Bandar Saujana Putra as well as Sungai Jarom.

Most of the hotspots identified are concentrated in the market and housing areas, as well as illegal garbage dumps.

The public is reminded to be careful during the operation to prevent any untoward incidents from occurring.

The participation of Ops Gagak 2015 is still open and interested individuals can contact MDKL at 03–31872825/2732.
