KUALA LUMPUR, 31 Aug: The Bersih 4.0 rally managed to achieve the goal of a peaceful and disciplined assembly.
They also carried out their promise to disperse after celebrating the 58th Merdeka Day exactly 34 hours of assembly since 2.00 pm on August 29.
Prior to this, Bersih 2.0 Chairman, Maria Chin Abdullah, during her speech at the main stage of Bersih 4.0 in Dataran Merdeka also reminded the same thing.
“We have created new history under the name of Bersih for the longest rally of 34 hours on the people’s huge mission to ‘cleanse the country’ and demand for Najib Razak to step down.
“So, history needs to end sweetly and true to the promise of returning after the assembly,” she said.
The rally that centered at the square dispersed after all participants sang the national anthem and there has not been any arrests or provocation that has happened at all locations as of 12.50 am today.
The involvement of ‘Bersih 4 Corruption, Bersih 4 Rubbish’ volunteers appeared once the participants dispersed.
They played a major role throughout the two days in ensuring that the capital was free from litter.
