Seven areas record unhealthy API

SHAH ALAM, 8 Sept: Seven areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9 am today.

Referencing the Department of Environment, it showed that Nilai recorded the highest API reading of 137, followed by Bukit Rambai (124), Port Dickson (116) and Seremban (114).

Also recording unhealthy API readings is Malacca City (109), Batu Muda (Kuala Lumpur) (114) and Banting (108).

Some other areas such as Tanah Merah, Tanjung Malim, Kangar, Keningau, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Kapit, Limbang, Miri, Kuala Terengganu and Labuan recorded good API readings.

API readings between 0 to 50 is good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).
