Pakatan has not ended, will continue to lead Selangor

SHAH ALAM, 9 June: PAS is expected to continue to survive as a Pakatan Rakyat (PR) component until the next general election.

Political analyst, Prof Datuk Mohamad Abu Bakar, said that PAS will remain and will not severe ties because the Islamic party benefits from being in Pakatan.

“The Pakatan politics did not end at the PAS Conference but will still remain until the general election. An instant formula cannot be done.

“By waiting, PAS will only leave the party if fired by DAP and PKR.

“However, this is also not necessarily a sign that PAS will officially work with Umno,” he told Selangor Kini.

Commenting on Selangor’s political scene, Mohamad is positive that the PR government will continue to lead the most developed state in Malaysia.

“Pakatan relations can dissolve in Penang because DAP certainly can move and stand alone there.

“But the situation is different with Selangor when the relationship should be maintained. Differences in view should be celebrated by each component so that the Selangor Pakatan government does not collapse,” he said.
