API recovering, only 8 areas record unhealthy readings

SHAH ALAM, Oct: The Air Pollution Index (API) readings today recorded healthier readings compared to yesterday when most areas recorded readings at an average of 50 to 100.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE), as of 9 am today, there were eight areas that recorded unhealthy readings.

The eight areas involved the City of Malacca (113), Bukit Rambai (111), Nilai (102), Port Dickson (113), Seremban (110), Kota Tinggi (102), followed by Banting and Putrajaya, each recording readings of 109 and 101.

Meanwhile, 30 other areas recorded moderate API readings. Meanwhile, 16 remaining areas recorded healthy readings.

API readings between 0 to 50 is good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).
