KOTA BHARU, 8 Oct: The Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) humanitarian mission to help flood victims brings about great benefits to the people of Kelantan.

The Kelantan Deputy Finance Officer, Mohammad Yusoff Hassan, said that the contribution by the Selangor government through MBI has helped a lot in rebuilding the people’s homes that were destroyed in the incident.

“We are grateful for the help channeled to help some of the people involved in the floods. The donation extended by the Selangor government through MBI benefits the people,” he told Selangor Kini.

He said that the development process is ongoing and a huge part is has been completed.

“Although it is not yet completed, many areas are prepared, such as Manik Urai, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang. Kelantan gets hit by floods every year, but we just hope it will not be like last year if the same problem repeats,” he said.

The MBI Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Head, Mohd Jaafarudin Md Ali, said that the Zakat contribution worth RM1 million is an effort made possible by the Selangor government to share revenue to help target groups in need of help.

The Selangor government built 60 prefabricated housing units (Darul Ehsan Homes) at a cost of RM6 million for the flood victims in Kelantan, developed by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS).

In December last year, the Selangor government also gave a donation of RM1 million to the Kelantan government during the visit by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, to the evacuation centres.
