Najib’s fangs blunt of IGP, AG are neutral

SHAH ALAM, 14 Oct: Datuk Seri Najib Razak will lose his fangs if the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Attorney General are neutral on any issue.

Political analyst Dr Maszlee Malik said that the Prime Minister is no immune as both these individuals are clearly on his side.

“So far, Najib has full authority because many are on his side, in fact the revamped cabinet ministers are also defending him despite being criticised.

“This situation will change if the IGP is neutral of seriously wants to investigate Najib and at the same time, the Attorney General must also show his fangs, then the Prime Minister will lose his fangs,” he told Selangor Kini.

He also feels that the change in attitude of Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs will also lead of Najib being less powerful if it really happens.

“If we hold a vote of no confidence, it requires support from BN, but most of them are standing strong behind Najib unless there is a change in attitude,” he said.

Previously, some BN leaders joined Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to speak out against the arrest of two individuals in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

Among them was the former Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and the former Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.
