LZS: Stop spreading slanderous rumours about Noridawati

SHAH ALAM, 4 AUG: The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) has urged everyone not to spread misformation related to the disabled single mother, Noridawati Husin who became viral on social media.

LZS said in a statement on Facebook that Noridawati, 31, has been a recipient since 2008 and still receives tithe aid to this day.

According to her, she receives monthly financial assistance of RM3,000, monthly rental assistance (RM4,560), Hari Raya assistance (RM700) and monthly food assistance.

“Meanwhile, the additional aid received by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council Treasury (MAIWP) and the Tithe Collection Centre early this year.

“Recently in June 2015, a total of RM55,000 was granted for her medical needs and also that of her children,” he said.

Noridawati’s story continues to go viral on social media and WhatsApp and be misinterpreted by certain parties as irresponsible.

LZS said there was no intention to humiliate anyone, just the intention of correcting any misunderstandings that have arisen from improper dissemination of information regarding the matter.

“We are urging those who meet individuals or families in need to channel information to LZS,” he said.

In the meantime, LZS also had the opportunity to meet Noridawati at her residence yesterday to give a clear and true explanation on the issue to all parties.
