MPSJ: No need to increase street lighting

SUBANG JAYA, 13 Sept: There is no need to increase street lights in Taman Mawar Section 5, Kinrara, as the existing infrastructure is sufficient.

The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Corporate Communications Officer, Muhammad Azli Miswan, said that the lighting in the area is a little affected because it is shaded by tree branches.

“Inspections carried out revealed that the street lighting in the area is a little affected because they are sheltered by leaves and branches.

“So, there is no need to increase street lights in the area at the moment,” he told Selangor Kini.

In relation to that, Azli said that pruning work will be done early in October to ensure that the lighting in the area recovers.

Prior to this, the residents in the neighborhood asked for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) or MPSJ to increase street lighting facilities in the area.

They also asked MPSJ to cut down large trees in Jalan TK5/1 which is feared will collapse in the event of heavy rain or strong winds.
