PETALING JAYA, 16 Apr: PKR candidates who will be competing in the 13th General Elections (GE-13) are candidates with high potential to win, especially in Selangor.
PKR Communications Director, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said that the candidates contesting are from different ethnic backgrounds and are different in their experiences.
Meanwhile, PKR has also successfully listed 30 percent of female candidates for the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (DUN).
“For example, in the Kuang and Sementa DUNs. Meanwhile there are new faces in Batang Kali and Kapar.
“In fact, we are also highlighting capable candidates such as Dr Aziz Bari, Khalid Jaafar, Wong Chen and Rafizi Ramli,” he said in a press conference at the PKR headquarters.
Nik Nazmi also described the nomination as the best in PKR’s history.
“This will provide a tough battle for Umno-BN. I am confident that PAS and DAP also have candidates like them,” he said.
Elaborating, he said that Selangor will be the most intense state in the GE-13.
This is because the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, had appointed himself as the State Director of Elections.
“It is meant for them to retain power in Putrajaya and altogether take back Selangor under any circumstances,” he said.
However, PKR believes that the leadership of Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has caused Najib to let go of the idea to shake the stability of Pakatan Rakyat in the state.
