SHAH ALAM, 16 Apr: The police have been asked to carry out investigations regarding the distribution of the sex video linked to PAS Secretary-General, Datuk Mustafa Ali, because it is seen as being masterminded by certain quarters to tarnish the image of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leader.

PKR Vice-President, Tian Chua said that PR believed that this disgusting trick is done by Umno-BN to tarnish the image of PR, furthermore as the 13th General Elections (GE-13) draws near.

“Mustafa Ali is the new victim of Umno-BN’s dirty trickery, he has already denied being involved in the sex video, he has even accused Umno-BN of trying to defame him.

“Malaysia is a country under the rule of the law; the authorities should take immediate action to prevent certain quarters from using dirty tricks to spread defamation and to tarnish the political arena of this country.

“However, until now, the authorities have not taken action to monitor or investigate this matter. As such, we believe that these are dirty tricks of the enemy aimed at spreading lies against PR leaders,” he said in a media statement today.

Tian Chua claims that the police ‘look the other way’ on such issues previously when obscene videos involving PKR De Facto Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was disseminated.

“However, the police do not take it seriously and took action against this engineered video, in fact they kept silent when pro Umno-BN media reported it to tarnish the image of PR.

“For example, during the Sarawak elections in 2011, the Datuk T incident where a sex video was exposed to attack Anwar, even though Anwar had already reported to the police, there is nothing about this case until now, no one has taken action.

“In fact, the court had already ruled that Anwar was not guilty in this sodomy II case in January this year. Anwar also won the lawsuit against Utusan Malaysia where the newspaper accused him of supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) movement early this year.

He said that PKR complied with the law and respects the election which is conducted fairly and in an equitable manner, thus urging Umno-BN to stop with their dirty tricks and challenges BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Najib Razak to attend the election forum organised by Bersih tomorrow and to debate with Anwar in front of the people.
