Malaysiakini Office Splashed With Red Paint, Duck Left at Door

SHAH ALAM, 25 Feb: The Malaysiakini independent news portal office in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, was found splashed with red paint and a duck in a cardboard box was found at the door.

Citing Malaysiakini’s report, the paint was splashed on the walls as well as the Malaysiakini signboard at the four-storey building and hit a motorbike parked nearby.

Meanwhile, the duck was in a cardboard box, which was left beside the main door.

It had a photo of Seputeh MP Teresa Kok taped on it.

Malaysiakini’s graphic editor Azlan Zamhari, who arrived at 6.15am, said the paint was still a little wet.

“It was apparently thrown at the office using five plastic bags,” he said.

The attack on Malaysiakini came a week after red paint and a chicken carcass were discovered on the staircase leading up to Teresa Kok’s office.
