ABIM praises Selangor in empowering youth

GOMBAK, 6 Oct: The Selangor government’s efforts to empower the youth through various programmes in the state was welcomed by the Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (ABIM).

Its President, Mohamad Raimi Abd Rahim, said that the move is crucial to form a group of youths who are more active and skilled at the international level.

He also praised the cooperation given by the state government towards ABIM in mobilising the younger generation in Selangor.

“ABIM hopes to offer programmes to encourage reading, scientific discourse, current issues and discussions about economy or cultural development in Selangor.

“We hope that there will be more activities that will make use of the libraries for the young generation and this effort is done with the state government,” he told Selangor Kini.

Raimi said that ABIM also wants to make Selangor a model state that has the best youth in Malaysia and become a world leader.

“We want the young generation to look at the country’s future so that they have the potential to contribute not only at the state level, but they can export the achievement across the country,” he said.

Since the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (Pakatan) took over the administration of the state, various programmes for the youth have been held, including the Youth Marriage Incentive, Local Youth Movement (PeBT) and the Selangor Young Assemblymen.
