Explore skills courses, guarantee economic survival

KUALA SELANGOR, 6 Oct: The youth of rural areas have been urged to equip themselves with certain skills to ensure that their economic survival is guaranteed.

The Assistant to the Exco for Religious Affairs, Rural and Traditional Village Development, Razaly Hassan, said that skills such as cooking and hair styling can generate lucrative income.

He said that such opportunity is also beneficial to the youth of rural areas, especially in facing the current tough economic challenges.

“There are food operators that are just trading at night markets who can generate high revenues and be silent millionaires.

“Similarly with barbershops; they can generate a monthly income of RM6,000.

“Unfortunately, less Malays are interested in the hairstyling industry,” said the Dusun Tua Assemblyman.

He said this at the Rural and Traditional Village Development Short Course Closing Ceremony at the Auditorium at the Inpens International College on October 4.

Accompanied by the Communications Manager of Inpens, Jefri Mijan, he also presented certificates to 120 participants.=

There are five courses throughout the two days (October 3 and 4) involving Tailoring, Hairdressing, Beauty, Refrigeration and Motorcycle Workshops.

Each participant was given the course and training for free, in addition to transport to the District Office.
