“Previously, there was no prosecution but we will start acting sternly to fully eradicate syndicates that clear government land illegally across the state.

“This stern action is to give a message to settlers who have been recently clearing government land illegally,” he said.

Prior to this, he participated in the Section 425 National Land Code Government Land Trespassing Unified Action at SKC Rasa, Mukim Sungai Tinggi, involving 24 hectares of land that have been planted with oil palm and vegetable farms on September 14.

The operation was led by the Assistant District Officer, the Hulu Selangor District and Land Office Enforcement Unit, Azizuddin Mohd Hashim.

Khusrin said that the offense notice under Section 425 of the National Land Code (NLC) was issued in August, however settlers continued to be defiant and continued operations.

At the same time, he also gave stern warning to syndicate ringleaders who offered government land at a certain rate to settlers by saying that the land is privately owned.

“So, hopefully, they will check the status of the land first at the Land and District Office before working on it.We do not want many people to be deceived,” he said.
