Price control, prevent property speculation

SHAH ALAM, 1 Sept: Affordable homes in Selangor are free from property speculation when the prices are controlled by the state government through the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS).

The LPHS Executive Director, Norzaton Aini Mohd Kassim, said that they have set the condition that the owners for affordable housing cannot transferred to other individuals a least in the next five years.

“This requirement does not apply to parents who want to pass it on to their children or because of love. We will allow it if it involves inheritance or legal reasons,” she said when contacted by Selangor Kini.

She said that the mechanism for the purchase of affordable housing developed by the agency has the ability to ensure that those who are really qualified can buy the homes.

“Among the conditions set include giving priority to those who do not yet own houses and who meet the income eligibility criteria set.

“I urge the public, especially the young people who are qualified, to take the opportunity to buy affordable houses offered by the state government,” she said.
