Shah Alam road closed in conjunction with Merdeka starting August 26

SHAH ALAM, 20 Aug: Some roads in the city of Shah Alam will be temporarily closed for the preparation and full rehearsal of the parade and ceremony in conjunction with the state’s 58th Merdeka Day celebration.

The Deputy Corporate Director of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), Shahrin Shmad, said that only two roads are involved, part of Jalan Persiaran Bandaraya (Dataran Kemerdekaan) and Persiaran Damai.

He said that all roads will be closed from August 26 to 30 and will reopen after the rehearsal and the celebration is held.

“In relation to that, the public is urged to not use Jalan Persiaran Bandaraya and Persiaran Damai during this period to avoid traffic congestion.

“They are also reminded to always follow instructions and to cooperate by using alternative routes to reach the destination,” he said in a statement.

Jalan Persiaran Bandaraya (Dataran Kemerdekaan) will be temporarily closed on August 26 for the stage preparation from 10 am until it is completed.

Whereas, on August 28 and 29, Jalan Persiaran Bandaraya and Persiaran Damai will be closed starting 5.00pm for the full dress rehearsal and parade.

The two roads will be fully closed on August 30 and will start at 8.00 am in conjunction with the state level 58th Merdeka Day celebration.
