MBSA provides RORO rental service

SHAH ALAM, 13 Oct: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) is providing rental services for the Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) bins for the purpose of collecting construction or building waste.

The Corporate Communications Officer, Shahrin Ahmad, said that there are two types of RORO bins provided, the three tonne RORO bins that are 9′ long x 6′ wide x 2 ½’ tall and the seven tonne RORO bins that are 18′ long x 8′ wide x 2 ½’ tall, with both being covered by canvas.

“The fee will depend on the size and capacity; RM420 for seven tonnes and RM270 for three tonnes.

“The initiative is taken to ensure that construction waste does not block public passage and ensure that the management of construction waste is systematic and to prevent illegal dumping,” he said in a press statement.

Shahrin said that the RORO rental application can be made through the Public Cleaning Division (BPA), the Solid Waste and Public Cleaning Management Department, Wisma MBSA, or contact the Solid Waste and Public Cleaning Management Department at 03-5510 5133.

“MBSA hopes that the problem of unorganised construction waste dumping can be overcome, thus it can help address the problem of illegal dumping,” he said.
