SHAH ALAM, 30 June: The Selangor government, together with the Selangor Water Supply Company (SYABAS), and the National Water Services Commission (SPAN), is reviewing the water distribution system to improve water capacity for consumers.

The Exco for Infrastructure, Public Amenities and Agro-Based INdistries, Zaidy Abdul Talib, said that this is to solve the problem of treated water supply due to unplanned maintenance, especially in Semenyih.

“These disruptions are caused by raw water resource management, water treatment and distribution carried out by other parties, making it difficult for the state government to make proper planning,” he said, taken from Sinar Harian.

He said this when commenting on the issue of water supply disruptions in Semenyih recently.

In the meantime, Zaidy said that the Selangor water industry restructuring agreement that is expected to be finalised in the near future will be able to solve the problem.

He said that the water issue in Semenyih did not arise because there is insufficient treated water that was successfully distributed and enjoyed by consumers.
