CM: Water issue reaches the end, to be finalised in a week

SHAH ALAM, 18 June: Selangor is committed to finalising the water industry restructuring agreement and rejected claims that it failed to fall through due to the seriousness of the state government and the federal government in reaching an understanding.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the statement has also been made on the matter and hopes that it can be finalised, as desired by both parties.

He said that the state government also thanked the federal government’s move of being more proactive in resolving the issue.

“We have reached the end. Hopefully in a week we can finalise it,” he said today.

At the same time, he also commented on the incident where there was a demonstration masterminded by Umno in front of the SUK Building yesterday.

He said that this was planned by them, led by the State Umno Chairman, Datuk Seri Noh Omar.

“I want to solve the people’s problems, not sell buckets. That is Noh Omar’s job. He can supply the buckets,” he said.
