120 families receive MBSA Ramadan assistance

SHAH ALAM, 18 June: A total of 120 families received Ramadan assistance in various forms amounting RM200 and RM50 in cash from the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA).

The Deputy Director of the MBSA Corporate and Community Development Department, Shahrin Ahmad, said that the contribution was represented by the Shah Alam Residents Representative COuncil (MPP) which was handed over to the less fortunate and low-income earners.

“The programme aims to help ease the burden of Shah Alam residents in preparing for the month of Ramadan.

“It is also a platform for MBSA towards the success of community activities to foster closer ties with the residents of Shah Alam,” he said in a statement.

Shahrin said that the contribution given was in the form of dry goods, daily necessities such as rice, onion, spices, soy sauce, oil, sugar and salt.

“MBSA hopes that the assistance given can ease the burden of the less fortunate because we are aware that the cost of living is increasing, in addition to carrying out the fasting properly,” he said.
