KUALA LUMPUR, 17 June: Ramadan should not be used as an excuse to spend more time resting and reducing the quality of work.
The Mayor of the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain, said that the duty is a trust that should be continued as usual.
“As an employee, Ramadan is a zone of change that needs to be understood and appreciated. Making Ramadan the reason to rest from performing duties should not happen.
“The month of fasting from all evil should be a catalyst to make individuals better after the Ramadan,” he said.
He said this at the Dates Presentation Event and the Ramadan Tautan Kasih Programme 1436 Hijrah at the Banquet Hall today.
Apart from giving dates to council members and staff, donations were also given to senior citizens registered under the poverty eradication programme by MBPJ.
A total of 50 recipients comprising of senior citizens from the Lembah Subang People’s Housing Project (PPR), the Kota Damansara PPR, Desa Mentari and Taman Medan received RM200 and dates.
