You could redeem a gift by taking your own food container to the bazaar

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 June: Visitors who bring their own containers when buying food or drinks at the Ramadan bazaar can redeem them for gifts.

The Deputy Mayor of the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), said that it can be done at the redemption counter at the Solid Waste & Public Cleaning Management Department as an effort to make the Ramadan bazaar garbage-free.

“Traders are encouraged to use Biodegradable Cleaning Products to replace polystyrene to facilitate disposal and minimise negative impact on the environment.

“Hopefully, traders will retain affordable selling prices during the Ramadan this time,” he said at the launch of the Chefmanship Academy Programme here at the MBPJ Civic Hall.

The UFS Managing Director, Matt Wilke, said that over 100 topics were created specially in the educational module to reduce the cost of food handlers.

“By buying products from UFS, the cost of materials purchased are cheaper because in one pack there are necessary materials and can be used for a variety of cooking methods.

“Explanation is also given on how stall hygiene and how to resolve the problem of unsafe food, including food poisoning, food being exposed and diarrhea,” he said.
