67 beneficiaries received RM100,500 from SMUE

SHAH ALAM, 11 June: 67 beneficiaries in Kuang received contributions from the Senior Citizen’s Scheme (SMUE) in the second phase worth RM100,500 recently.

The beneficiaries received RM1,500 each by the DUN Coordinator, Salasiah Disa.

Salasiah said that the donation is awarded by the state government which is concerned about the people of Selangor.

“It is in effort to safeguard the welfare of the people. I hope that this donation can help the beneficiaries,” he said.

SMUE was introduced by the state government when there is a death for seniors aged above 60 years.

Beneficiaries will receive advance funeral assistance, followed by an additional contribution of RM1,500 in two months.

At the same time, a total of 30 women, especially housewives, took part in the cookie baking contest at Bandar Tasik Puteri.

Salasiah said that this does would directly create expertise in preparing festive cookies, thus opening up opportunities for those involved to seek additional revenue.

“We provide free preparation courses to help improve their skills in order to supplement family income,” he said.
