Taman Ehsan Jaya building structure problematic, 80% cracked & leaking

KLANG, 2 June: Home-buyers of Taman Ehsan Jaya were upset when their homes faced structural problems despite receiving the occupancy certification (CCC) that has been issued.

Selangor Kini found that almost 80 percent of households face problems and repairs are being carried out by the developer.

It was done following complaints from buyers who were not satisfied about the leaks and cracks on the walls.

In addition, there are plumbing and electrical problems causing buyers to spend to enable them to live in their homes immediately.

The Klang MP, Charles Santiago, said that the developer has fenced the area as promised, however it was not notified when applying for the planning permission (PP).

The developer failed to build the wall along the river properly in addition to not completing the main access road within the promised period.

“The retention wall near Sungai Aur collapsed twice and has still not been repaired. The area will face flooding if the water level rises and this would affect the adjacent apartment.

“Before this, the road was not fully paved and the drain structure was not done well. The developer only acted after I wrote to them regarding the problems faced,” he said today.

He said that buyers have expressed regret in two previous meetings due to the delay in handing over the house keys in addition to the careless way the developed completed the project.

The double-storey terrace hose built by Melati Ehsan has 254 units and is priced at around RM430,000 per unit, and it should have been fully completed in October 2014.

In addition, survey found that the area outside the park found that the developer did not move the main pipe that was built on a small drain.

MPK Council Member, Yew Boon Lye, said that the pipe should have been built higher from the drain from easy water flow.

“With the pipe this way, how can water flow well? Developers should change it and not let it be,” he said.

Buyer, William Low, said that he hopes that the issue can be resolved soon, as promised.

“The carelessness of the developer and responsible parties have discouraged buyers to stay sooner and comfortably according to the time set,” he said.
