Free van service in conjunction with the Press Freedom Day Festival

SHAH ALAM, 15 May: The Selangor Standing Committee on Culture is providing free van services to attend the Press Freedom Day celebration on May 16.

The festival, which will take place from 2 pm to 20 pm, will take place at the Malaysia Kini foyer, Off Jalan Tandang, Section 51, Petaling Jaya.

The public, especially students, are urged to hitch a ride on the van from the Taman Jaya LRT station (Amcorp Mall) to travel to the festival.

The van fill first make a trip from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm, followed by 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm, 7 pm to 8 pm, and 10.30 pm to 11 pm.

The event will start with a forum entitled ‘Liberation Terrorist Illegal Book’ with a panelist consisting of three young writers; Zul Fikri Zamir, Wan Ji Wan Hussin, and Benz Ali

The second forum entitled ‘Hipster Portal the New Media Power’ will also feature the Chief Editor of the Cilisos portal, Lau Chak Onn, Terrance Fernandez (The Edge daily business Editor), Noor Azam Shairi (Awani news portal Editor) and Hafidz Baharom (freelance writer).

The highlight will be the launch of the media freedom book project followed by a political and journalism thriller movie entitled ‘The Company You Keep’.

The festival is being organised by the Angry Media Movement (GERAMM), supported by the Centre for Independent Journalism (CIJ), in collaboration with Malaysia Kini and the Selangor State Standing Committee for Culture.
