Selangor’s 4-day trade mission in India to attract investment

SHAH ALAM, 18 Apr: Selangor state government officials are on a four-day trade mission from April 19 to the Indian cities of Mumbai and Chennai, in an effort to lure investors from the country.

According to a statement issued by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in Mumbai, during the visit, the Selangor delegation intends to give insights into investment opportunities in the state.

The delegation, headed by state executive councillor Datuk Teng Chang Kim, is targeting investments from the pharmaceuticals, medical devices and machinery sectors.

A meeting with the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) will be held in Mumbai on Monday and in Chennai on April 22.

Invest Selangor Chief Executive Officer Hasan Azhari will make a presentation entitled, “An Investment Solution Centre In Selangor”, during the visit.

The Selangor delegation will also meet Mida and Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) officials, as well as the Consul Generals in Mumbai and Chennai respectively, to get further information on business opportunities in India. – Bernama
