WHAT’S THE CASE? The Louvre developer ordered to stop construction immediately

SHAH ALAM, 24 Apr: The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) ordered the construction of The Louvre 36-storey luxury condominium and shops at Jalan Sungai Ramal to be stopped immediately.

The Bangi Assemblyman, Mohd Shafie Ngah, on Facebook, said that this was because the contractor of the project was found to have committed several violations in managing work at the project site.

“The Bangi Assemblyman received an immediate response from the MPKj Yang Dipertua as follows: This land is a commercial land. It is the developer’s right to develop the land.

“In regards to the objection, MPKj will give a full report to the Bangi Assemblyman’s office in a short while.

“However, construction has been ordered to stop immediately this afternoon (April 22) by MPKj on grounds that several management violations has taken place there. We will inform about the latest updates later,” wrote Shafie.

Prior to this, the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Maahad Hamidiah Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) claimed that the developer of the project did not comply with construction specifications contained in the MPKj RT (1st Amendment – 2020).

It is also claimed that the project did not conform to the boundaries of the project and did not specify the file number and the date on the project’s signage.

The luxury project has been opposed by the public because it is a safety threat, interferes with learning, creates an unhealthy environment for students and the school site became coveted by developers.
