SHAH ALAM, 3 May: Traders who want to expand their businesses to increase income are advised to apply for the Blueprint assistance introduced by the Selangor government.
The Exco for Poverty, Caring Government and Plantation Workers, V.Ganabatirau, said that the poverty eradication programme which targets low-income workers will be actively continued and receive overwhelming response.
He said that traders who have a monthly income of less than RM1,500 can apply for the assistance at the Land Office.
“We help traders obtain equipment required to enable them to increase their income in accordance with their respective family expenses.
“Thousands of traders have received assistance from this programme and they are not required to repay it,” he told Selangor Kini.
Ganabatirau said that currently, RM2 million is being allocated under the poverty Stanco and he hopes that the allocation will be increased in the forthcoming Selangor Budget.
“This programme should be strengthened with a higher budget as it is a very popular budget under the poverty Stanco,” said the Kota Alam Shah Assemblyman.
Blueprint is a business assistance in the form of goods for traders in Selangor with an annual allocation of RM2 million to develop the businesses.
Meanwhile, he said that the Hijrah incentive programme also helps boost the poor in migrating to the middle-income group.
He said through this assistance, traders can expand their businesses with increased profits to improve their family’s fate.
“The Hijrah programme provides financial assistance between RM3,000 to RM50,000 through a number of required conditions to help the lower-income group increase their income and obtain financial assistance in an easy an efficient way,” he said.
Hijrah is strengthened through the Selangor Micro-Credit Scheme (SkimSel) and the Urban Poor Micro-Credit Programme (MiMBAR) with a total allocation of RM100 million.
