MPK: Clean campaign to overcome dengue

SHAH ALAM, 15 Feb: The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) is holding a constituency cleanliness campaign to create a clean environment in the area under their administration, in addition to controlling and eradicating dengue.

The Yang DiPertua of MPK, Datuk Mohammad Yacob, said that the campaign started since January and is joined by the local authority in cooperation with all 11 constituency offices and the local community.

“The campaign is to raise awareness among the local residents, particularly on the issue of cleanliness especially in addressing and eradicating Aedes mosquito breeding areas to control dengue, which is rather alarming now.

“In addition, the campaign will indirectly beautify and create a clean and cheerful environment,” he said.

At the same time, he said that MPK is absolutely committed to the recommendations of the state government through its various departments that are always ready in campaigns and seen as being the fundamental part in creating community awareness and taking care of their respective surroundings.

“The previous campaign received overwhelming response from the local community, and MPK is always supportive in gotong-royong activities by the residents in creating a tranquil environment,” he said.
