SHAH ALAM, 28 Jan: The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) will include the participation of the Residents’ Committee (JKP) in the dengue prevention programme each week.
The MPSJ Yang DiPertua, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, said that the involvement of the JKP is important in the programme to address the outbreak because the local authority has recorded the highest number of cases for the Petaling district.
“We have already decided during the council meeting. The JKP needs to hold prevention programmes in their respective areas.
“So far, all engaged in programmes like this are government agencies Now, we want to guide the local residents and those involved,” he said during a media conference today.
He said that it is expected that this method will have a better and more comprehensive effect in addressing dengue.
“In fact, not only every week because the JKP can continue to act if there are places with water collecting,” he said.
MPSJ organised a workshop to identify the cause of the matter or the problem, discuss and find a resolution in addressing issues related to dengue in areas under the administration of MPSJ on 22 and 23 January.
Based on the report on the Selangor State Health Department (JKN) website, http://www.jknselangor.moh.gov.my, 3,033 cumulative cases of dengue were registered in the state with the Petaling district recording the highest number with 1,456 cases as of January 17.
