MBPJ received 14 awards from 2013-2014

PETALING JAYA, 28 Jan: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has received 14 recognitions and awards from organisations from within and outside the country throughout 2013 to 2014, based on various governance initiatives of the local authority.

The acting mayor of the Petaling Jaya city, Puasa Md Taib, said that the recognition receives should encourage employees of the council in providing the best service.

He said that all parties need to work in a team and respect each other’s strengths, practice open communication and demonstrate trust and respect between the council and stakeholders.

“The delivery of effective, efficient and customer-friendly services is important in establishing municipal services that meet the needs and expectations of the people.

“We must all work hard to ensure that the service delivery system of the council meets the needs of the community,” he said during the Full MBPJ Meeting today.

Among the awards and recognition received by MBPJ are the 4 Star Audit Rating for the Financial Management of the Accountability Index 2013, the PWD-Friendly City Category Attentiveness Local Authority Award 2014 and the Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Initiative on Urban Inovation for the 2nd Guangzhou International Award.
