SHAH ALAM, 26 Dec: The Selangor State Exco meeting today approved an allocation of RM1.5 million for all states experiencing floods.
The Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that a total of RM1 million has been allocated for the Kelantan government and RM100,000 each to the governments of Terengganu, Pahang and Perak.
“The government and the people of Selangor sympathise with the flood victims who have suffered hardship and property damage in the worst floods since 43 years ago.
“Hopefully the people in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Perak will be patient and persevere against the disaster and for the safety and welfare of the people to continue to be protected by Allah,” he said.
He said this during a media conference at the Selangor Chief Minister’s Office this morning.
Mohamed Azmin also visited Kelantan to deliver the cheque contributed to the government of Kelantan today.
In addition, he said that the Selangor government also approved an allocation of RM200,000 to the Selangor Humanitarian Aid Mission Association (PANTAS) to carry out humanitarian aid missions.
He said that the local authorities in the state have also been ordered to carry out cleaning in the areas affected by the flood.
“The Selangor government has agreed to provide cleaning work for flood areas with the involvement of all local authorities in Selangor and other agencies.
“All Selangor local authority machineries will be sent for cleaning as soon as the water recedes to clear the garbage and solid waste,” said Mohamed Azmin.
