KUALA SELANGOR, 19 Dec: The dreams of the 56 residents here in Kampung Lembah Jaya to own their own land grants were finally realised when they received the Approval Letter and the 5A Form from the state government today.
The ceremony was officiated by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, during a field visit to the district of Kuala Selangor.
“The state government viewed the issue of this land ownership as an important issue and we are always working to ensure that residents eligible to receive land as a guarantee to the people to permanently own the land their homes are on to be occupied by their children in the future,” he said.
Mohamed Azmin said this when speaking at the Letter of Approval and 5A Form Presentation Ceremony to the residents of Kampung Lembah Pantai at the Balai Penghulu Tanjung Karang today.
Also present were Selangor Exco members Datuk Ahmad Yunus Hairi, Elizabeth Wong, the MDKS YDP Noraini Roslan, and the Sungai Burong Assemblyman, Datuk Shamsudin Lias.
The 5A Form is an offer letter for land ownership from the state government to an individual and the recipient of the offer is only charged a premium as low as RM1,000.
Compared to the BN era, the recipients of the 5A Form were required to pay a premium of at least 20 percent of the land value, where it was burdensome to the recipient of the offer who had low incomes to own the land.
Resident Abdullah Hussin, 64, was clearly happy when he owned his own land after over 14 years of waiting.
“Previously, I lived in questions, not knowing the fate of living on a land that has no black and white (documentation).
“Thanks to the state government that is concerned and facilitating the people’s affairs in owning residential land,” he said when met by Selangor Kini.
For Saamah Ismail, 67, he expressed gratitude and thanked the state government for always caring about the welfare of the people.
“This is clear evidence that the state government is concerned about the people’s problems although it took place in the opposition’s area (Tanjung Karang).. With my own grant the life of me and my family is more secure,” he said.
For the record, the land was approved at the State Government Executive Council (MMKN) session on August 21, 2013, for the purpose of developing residences on a 17.6 acre land.
Prior to this, the residents were settling near Taman Sri Bakti, Tanjung Karang, since 1999, before being asked to move to the Kampung Lembah Pantai Malay Reserve Land due to the enlargement of the trench.
