AMPANG, 15 Dec: The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) team was crowned the champion of the Chief Minister Cup Futsal League Championship after defeating the Ampang Puteri Johor Medical Group (KPJ) in the final match.
In the match that was held at the Sport Planet Ampang, MPAJ won narrowly against Ampang Puteri KPJ with 3-2.
As the winner, MPAJ took home a cash prize of RM3,000 and a trophy, while Ampang Puteri KPJ took home a cash prize of RM2,000.
The victory by MPAJ was more meaningful when their player, Azizi Azman, was also awarded the best player, while the goalkeeper for Ampang Puteri, Muhammad Nasrun, was awarded the best goal keeper.
Meanwhile, the Court Soccer team finished third after beating the Titiwangsa AMK in the match to determine the third and fourth place, which was held earlier last night.
The prizes were presented by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali.
The Chief Minister’s Cup Futsal League Championship began on November 8 and received participation from 64 teams across Selangor.
The teams were split into two groups and the matches were held at the Futsal Square in Taman Melawati and the Bukit Antarabangsa Futsal Youth Square.
