Azmin officially begins duty as CM

SHAH ALAM, 24 Sept: Today, Mohamed Azmin Ali officially began his duties as the new Chief Minister of Selangor after being sworn in as the top leader in the state yesterday at Istana Alam Shah, Klang.

He arrived at the State Government Secretary (SUK) Building lobby at 7.45 am before being taken into the Chief Minister’s office on Level 21.

When Azmin was met by reporters, he expressed gratitude for being able to start his new job as the Chief Minister which has been entrusted to him.

He also pledged to undertake his duties as best possible.

“I am grateful because I can start my new duties which have been entrusted to me today.

“After an early meeting with the State Secretary about the duties of the Chief Minister, I will now attend a briefing with the heads of departments,” he said.

Prior to that, he managed to mingle with the staff at the SUK and had a tour around his office before the briefing at the Operation Room on Level 22.

Accompanying him was the State Government Secretary, Datuk Mohamed Khusrin Munawi.

Azmin, who is also the Assemblyman for Bukit Antarabangsa, was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of Selangor in front of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, yesterday.

He is replacing Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim who has been the Chief Minister of Selangor since 2008.
